Have your say: Become a Patient and Family Partner with 3sHealth
Are you interested in volunteering your patient experience to 3sHealth’s work of finding innovative solutions to complex problems so that health care will be sustainable for future generations? If so, express your interest in becoming one of our Patient and Family Partners.
Making the patient heard at every level is a commitment from the province. As a Patient and Family Partner, it is rewarding to be heard and have the people who do the work make a change because of your experience.
Patient and Family Partners (PFPs) play a crucial role in helping ensure that the work 3sHealth’s service lines carry out is always patient- and family-centered. 3sHealth has been actively recruiting additional PFPs for its various health system partnership committees. The input these volunteers provide to committees is invaluable to health-care decision makers and all Saskatchewan patients.
“When I talk to executives and people on committees, they say having a patient in the room focuses the discussion on what really matters,” says Colleen Bryant, one of 3sHealth’s Patient and Family Partners.
Bryant also points to the power of starting meetings with a patient story. “Making the patient heard at every level is a commitment from the province. As a Patient and Family Partner, it is rewarding to be heard and have the people who do the work make a change because of your experience.”
Aligned with its partners in ensuring all its work is patient- and family-centered, 3sHealth has created a Patient and Family Advisory Council and has integrated patient and family partners throughout its strategic planning process.
