We collaborate with Patient Family Partners (PFPs) so that our work is always focused on the best outcomes for patients and families. The input these volunteers provide to 3sHealth and its committees is invaluable.

“It’s amazing,” says Colleen Bryant, a 3sHealth PFP. “One of the wonderful things about being a PFP is that you get to work with the people who make the changes, the health-care decision makers. 3sHealth, the Saskatchewan Health Authority, and all health-care partners are committed to listening to patients.”

Ideal PFPs will have a variety of related experience, reflect the diversity of the Saskatchewan’s population, and have a desire to improve quality, safety, and the patient experience.

PFP opportunity: Employee Benefits Plan Medical Automated Platform

3sHealth and the Saskatchewan Health Authority are seeking the assistance of two PFPs who have previous experience with the disability claims process in Saskatchewan.

3sHealth’s Contracting team is evaluating a digital solution to modernize how medical information is collected for disability claims. The current manual process can take two to eight weeks, while the proposed platform would automate secure provider submissions, reducing turnaround times to approximately 12 days while strengthening privacy safeguards. 

Patient and Family Partners would contribute by sharing their lived experiences related to the timeliness of the disability claims process and by offering perspectives on how this proposed change could impact benefits plan members in the future.

Two Patient and Family Partners are being sought, one Indigenous and one non Indigenous.
