Did you know?

Your Extended Health Care Plan covers an eye examination for you and a spouse every 24 months after your last exam and every 12 months for dependents under age 21.

It’s important to note that you become eligible for coverage again 24 months after your last exam and not every two calendar years.

Example

If you made a claim for an eye exam on August 6, 2019, you would be eligible to make your next claim on August 6, 2021. It is important to note that if you waited to make your next claim for an appointment on November 20, 2021, the 24-month period takes effect on that date. You would then be eligible to claim another eye exam on November 20, 2023.

More information

Charges are limited to one examination for each insured person payable at 100 per cent up to a reasonable and customary amount.

Prescription lenses, frames, contact lenses, sunglasses, and prescription safety glasses are eligible for reimbursement under the $300 vision maximum once every 24 months as well.

Plan members are also eligible for laser eye surgery reimbursement coverage up to $600 per insured person once per lifetime. Some conditions also apply.
