How to take care of yourself using your benefits plan

There are a number of ways that you can utilize your benefit plans to improve and maintain your health, potentially preventing health issues in the future.

Saskatchewan health system employees can access an Extended Health Care and Dental Plan that includes many options to prevent illness and increase longevity, such as:

  • Chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease are associated with poor oral hygiene, so utilizing your dental benefits is important.
  • People who neglect their vision are typically at higher risk of suffering from cataracts, macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and low vision, making regular vision care a must.
  • Paramedical services like massage therapy, psychology, and chiropractic services, and prescription drug coverage can all help ensure you remain in the best health possible.

Health information and guidance at your fingertips

There are also resources available to Employee Benefit Plan members through our provider, Canada Life. By logging in to the My Canada Life at Work site or app, you can access a suite of coaching materials that can help you take control of your personal health. Risk assessments can identify important areas you may want to work on, fitness and dietary information can help you refine your diet and workout plans, and mental health modules provide support when needed.

In addition, your claims can be submitted online to ensure quick reimbursement for any health and dental expenses you have incurred.

Helping you understand the benefits available to you so can utilize them to take care of your personal health is a priority for 3sHealth. Get more information on the benefits available to you or contact us at ebp@3sHealth.ca or 1.866.278.2301.
