Canada Post labour disruption could impact mail delivery
3sHealth is committed to providing the best possible service it can during the postal service disruption.
After negotiations between Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) failed to produce a new contract for employees, CUPW members have begun a nationwide strike.
During this disruption, 3sHealth’s Employee Benefits team will communicate with plan members by telephone, email, and fax.
Whenever possible, emails will be used in place of physical mail, with confidential information password protected to ensure the security of members’ personal information. Couriers will be used when available to deliver life insurance benefits to beneficiaries as quickly as possible. Benefit packages, such as retirement or welcome packages, will be processed and mailed out once mail service resumes. If members wish to receive those packages sooner, they can request one via email. To ensure health and dental claims are reimbursed as soon as possible, we encourage members to log in to My Canada Life at Work and sign up for electronic fund transfers (EFTs).
Plan members who currently receive disability benefit payments by cheque will be contacted to discuss setting up EFTS to avoid any disruption in payments. If EFTs are not an option, 3sHealth will attempt to courier cheques directly to members. If the labour disruption lasts more than two weeks, disability benefit payment statements will be sent by password protected email. Any letters that require action by medical providers will be sent by secure fax.
If you have any questions about your benefits plan or how 3sHealth will handle delivery during a mail disruption, please contact a 3sHealth Benefit Services Officer at 1.866.278.2301 or email EBP@3sHealth.ca.
